Rapé Mulata Nukini comes directly from Nukini tribe in Acre. No doubt about it, this is a strong snuff. Mulata Nukini is a blend of local organic moi tobacco, parika ashes and pulverized leaves from a herb called Mulata or Mulatinho.
This Rapé, Mulata Nukini, has a nice darker brown color and has a nice amazonian jungle scent. All together this Mulata is very powerful. besides the special and strong moi (moy) tobacco it is also the parika ash that provides extra power. On the other hand its the Mulata herb which brings a special quality to this blend. It has calming properties and helps to relax the nerves and gives relaxation in general. Mulata Nukini Rapé is an excellent tool for deep concentration/meditation, challenging but doable. The tribe people like taking Mulata Rapé in the afternoon as a medication. To me, its a very strong Rapé.
The Nukini tribe.
The Nukini belong to the Pano linguistic family and are about only 750 members. The tribe suffered severely during the era of latex production and afterward. The Nukini lost A huge part of their culture, including their language. almost the entire ethnic group disappeared (Aguiar 2012). Due to this decline in members, many Nukini people had to mingle with members of other ethnicities in order to survive.
Exploitation and violence that started with the rubber industry, has turned into drug traffickers, loggers, and hunters that still pose a threat to this tribe. Despite all these challenges that the Nukini people had to face, at the present time, the Nukini have a stable socio-economic situation and pursue economic activities like fishing and hunting, while there are also many nutritious plants, like mango, soursop, coconut, cashew, jackfruit. And also pineapple, lemon, Barbados cherry, guava, avocado, pupunha, cupuaçu and papaya that nourish the tribe.
Yet the Nukini managed to survive by mingling with other groups and tribes. They build a strong socio-economic structure that enables them to be in close connection with nature that surrounds and feeds them. I regard to Rapé there are some women of the tribe who make Rapé but its very clear that the man make theirs as well.

Traditionally Rapé is administered through a pipe made out of bamboo or bone. The Tepi is a blowpipe that you can use to administer another person. When receiving Rapé the other blows it through both nostrils. In general, the shape of the Tepi is straight, curved or V-shaped. A different form is self-administration. For this, you use a Kuripe. The Kuripe has a V- shape and connects the mouth to the nostril. In this case, you blow the Rapé to yourself.
I sieve this Rapé Mulata and all other snuff coming from my shop through a 120-micron high-grade stainless steel mesh. This makes an extremely fine powder. It’s labor-intensive but guarantees a consistent fineness, cleanness and optimal absorption of the Snuff. I store the Rapé stock dry and in vacuum containers to prolong freshness and quality.
